I have two announcements to share with you regarding the school district web site.
1. We have a new default district page at http://rockislandschools.org. This page is designed for visitors to our site from outside the school district network, therefore you may not be visiting this page very often. The navigation menu is similar to the page it replaces, but there are additional links for current information and announcements.
2. We’ve added a new “Live Help” page at http://rockislandschools.org/staff/live-help.html This is a new program I feel will improve our ability to provide support from the web page. Please check out the page and open a live chat to test the system with us. Although we are currently only offering technology assistance, this feature may soon be expanded to include answering general questions about the school district submitted by web site visitors. If you are interested in setting up a homework live help for your class, contact me and I’ll assist you in setting this up and integrating the feature into your web page.
I also want to remind you that we are continuing to offer “Training by Request.” Requests for one on one training or training in a small group should be entered in TroubleTrakker. A new category called “Training Request” has been added to the TroubleTrakker problem types. After entering the request online, you will be contacted by someone from the technology department to schedule the training.
